For four days, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center became the venue where experts from around the world shared their knowledge, experience and ideas about improving efficiency of hydrocarbon exploration, production and processing. ADIPEC was attended by more than 145 thousand industry professionals and representatives of oil and gas technology vendors. The event was held under the patronage of the President of the United Arab Emirates.
This year was SST Group’s first at ADIPEC. Its ADIPEC debut demonstrated strong demand for heat tracing solutions for wells and pipelines in the Middle East. SST Group’s booth was visited by several hundred industry professionals from across the world. Innovations in the field of electric cable heating were presented by Group’s owner and CEO Michael Strupinskiy, Mario Colpa, CEO of SST GmbH and Umesh Kumar, CEO of SST Group’s Middle Eastern subsidiary.
International experts highly praised self-regulating heating cables made by OKB Gamma (part of SST Group), used for freeze protection of large-diameter pipelines and maintaining the desired temperature inside industrial plants and tanks. The product is unique in that it adjusts heat dissipation in response to changes in ambient temperature.
Visitors of SST Group’s booth also demonstrated a strong interest in the energy-efficient Stream Tracer™ system for the heating of wells, preventing the formation of asphalt-resin-paraffin deposits (ARPD) and consuming 50 % less energy compared to systems based on series-resistance heating cables. Stream Tracer™ based on skin-effect heater with the power output varying along its length won the ECO BEST AWARD in 2018.
This year’s new development — VeLL (Very Long Line) system based on series-resistance heating cable — has proved its relevance in the Middle Eastern market. The system of three cables tightly connected by couplings makes it possible to heat pipelines up to 150 km long with a single power supply connection and an unlimited length of the auxiliary network.
SST Group’s booth was visited by representatives of major oil and gas corporations of the Middle East — Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Petroleum Development Oman, Dragon Oil, Rolloos Oil & Gas, Petrogas Systems. SST Group’s turnkey electric heating systems attracted the attention of EPC contractors, including Petrofac, National Petroleum Construction Company, Quality International, Proserv Middle East, L&T, Higleig Petroleum Services & Investment Co. Ltd., Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., CNOCC, Naizak Global Engineering Systems, Enerflex Middle East. The exhibition was also attended by global solution providers, such as Emerson, EIS Middle East, Siemens, Axis Engineering.
At ADIPEC, SST Group signed a number of cooperation agreements with oil and gas companies headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, India, Kuwait, Oman, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt and Sudan. Shipments to new customers will be managed by SST Group’s newly opened overseas office in Dubai.
“Participation in ADIPEC-2018 demonstrated global demand for the company’s solutions and helped strengthen its position in the Middle East as a global supplier of heat tracing solutions and manufacturer of ex-proof equipment,” commented Mr. Anton Postnikov, Chief Commercial Officer at the engineering company SST Energomontazh, part of SST Group.
