In 2021, the engineering company SST Energomontazh, member of SST Group, completed Phase 1 of a comprehensive project in Egypt for Measuresoft Oil Services Egypt.
The project is the company's first comprehensive electric heating project in Africa. SST Energomontazh delivered its scope of services under an EPC contract, which included design, supply, installation supervision and commissioning, start-up and warranty maintenance of the electric heating solutions.
Our electric heating solutions have been installed and are successfully operating at the Shell lubricants plant. The project site is located near Cairo in Egypt and is implementing a program to increase its production capacity. The plant produces motor oils and industrial lubricants. The expansion project will increase storage space for both raw materials and finished products, as well as install new filling, mixing, and packaging lines.
SST Energomontazh took part in the plant expansion program and supplied electric heating systems based on self-regulating heating cables, explosion-proof junction boxes, and sensors. To control and monitor system parameters, control cabinets connected to an automated operator workstation were installed.
The operator workstation is located in the control room of the plant. Electric heating parameters are displayed in real time in a graphical user interface. In general, the system provides centralized control of the equipment and minimizes the human factor.
Measuresoft has been developing and supplying SCADA-based industrial software worldwide for over 25 years. Some of their clients include Shell, ExxonMobil, ABB, and others. Measuresoft Oil Services Egypt, the contractor for the lubricants plant expansion project, has entered into an EPC contract for electric heating systems with SST Energomontazh.
SST Group products and solutions are exported to 60 countries worldwide. The company is certified as a vendor of electric heating solutions by the largest global EPC contractors and project operators in the oil and gas sector, including Linde, Petrofac, WorleyParsons, and others. SST Group is one of the world’s three largest manufacturers of electric heating systems.
